Speech Language Pathologist (Temporary)
West Michigan Academy of Arts and Academics is hiring a Temporary Speech Language Pathologist for students with varying eligibility areas. Position begins March 9th - June 10th, Monday - Friday; hours 7:30 am - 3:30 pm
West Michigan Academy of Arts and Academics is a TK-8 public school academy chartered by Grand Valley State University. We are located in Spring Lake and our students come from many surrounding districts in Ottawa and Muskegon counties. WMAAA focuses on arts integration and high academic achievement. We have a great team of teachers and staff who have been supporting and educating creative, artistic, academic high achieving students for over 25 years! We are looking for an experienced successful leader to join our team.
MISSION: Creating life-long community through arts integration
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● Conduct comprehensive evaluations to determine eligibility for special education services.
● Develop, implement, and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including writing measurable goals and providing data-driven recommendations related to student eligibility for services and/or accommodations in the classroom.
● Provide speech-language therapy in individual or small group settings, including pushing into the classroom for inclusion or pull-out service delivery models.
● Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to implement classroom strategies and support communication needs across settings.
● Maintain accurate, timely documentation (e.g., MiPSE, progress reports) and track student progress.
● Coordinate and/or participate in IEP, REED, MDR, and/or other relevant meetings to support student success and meet student needs; attend Special Education team meetings.
Requirements: Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology, Michigan State Licensure, and a Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred; alternatives to the above qualifications, such as a Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with SB (Speech Language Impairment) Endorsement.
